The name Italian Roast comes from the somewhat darker roast used in southern Italy for strong coffee and espresso. Originally the dark roasting was supposed to cover defects of cheap coffee varieties (Robusta). However, we use a blend of exquisite, tall, full-bodied Grand Cru coffees, mostly from Indonesia. The result is a balanced, deep and complex blend with noble fullness and intense, sweet, fruity and earthy spicy aromas. We recommend our Italian roast for the preparation of an excellent espresso with a lot of crema or also as cappuccino, latte macchiato and as coffee.
