The rare Maragogype elephant beans (pronounced maragodjip) are 2-3 times larger than conventional beans and produce a pleasantly soft and fragrant coffee. Maragogype is grown in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico. We believe that the best elephant beans grow in Mexico. Our Maragogype comes from the area around Chiapas, from the border area to Guatemala. It is mild and aromatic with a pleasantly light, extremely fragrant fullness, with hints of nuts and cocoa as well as a wonderful coffee aroma.
