Problems inserting the BG after drainage valve

Hello , I have an older Nivona NICR 646 where I have replaced the drain valve ! Everything has worked so far , coffee runs perfectly ! The BG is also quite easy to remove , but when I want to put it back in there are problems ! In my opinion the plate of the drain valve is not flush with the rest of the panel , so the two pins on the plate are too deep to release the handle of the BG ! Have now tightened all the screws again , is a bit better but still not perfect ! Has anyone ever had the problem and been able to solve it ??
