The Nivona is programmable to switch on. Nivona is a specialized trade product and not like Melitta a product thrown onto the market.
I find a plain text display nicer than Melitta light buttons.....

What is the difference between a text display (Melitta CI) and a plain text display?

By the way, I find a one-button operation with rumwurschteln in the cryptic Nivona menu more cumbersome than clearly defined buttons.

You should also accept if a questioner doesn't want or can't spend that much money and doesn't answer questions that weren't asked.

It's all a price/performance question.
And the price has probably been clearly defined.

Everyone can decide for himself what he wants to spend.

If the heating up is under one minute I am not ready 200 € for a "timer" / output programming!

The tests speak for themselves I find the Melitta on average rated as good!

I also find a button operation more pleasant- than having to turn the wheel :-)

But as I said, that everyone can decide for themselves!

I will be informed today about the Melitta again extensively!

Thanks again for the answers.

They also have to turn the wheel a little... :-)
But not necessarily for the coffee purchase.

In the test of the Stiftung Warentest the Nivona grade 2.2 was relatively close to the MelittaCI 2.5.

The Melitta is relatively loud, only 3 degrees of grinding can be adjusted exactly and the selected bean (Beanselect) is only available in the next but one brewing process.
This should be noted. Oh yes, and she's not the most beautiful either.

Whoever can live with it gets a machine with a good price/performance ratio.
That's my opinion.

And there are ...ump better. But not to the price.

Hey guys,

have a question: I also have a Melitta Caffeo CI and the milk foam doesn't really work. It is always only so faltering and no real foam develops.
(with 180 ml planned foam I have then 30 ml in the mug)

Any tips and tricks

You'll have to find the culprit in the milk circuit.
Could also be that it no longer produces enough steam, because calcified, then with a decalcifier with double dose and the active substance amidosulfonic acid decalcify again.

hello, 4 years experience with the CI, 3 x sent in because milk foam no function, only hot spitting water came out.
found out then also according to statement of the Melitta service I must regularly decalcify, in my opinion I thought I have done it, but I thought I only because I have only decalcified when the machine has reported it, is a mistake because now decalcify and I clean the CI once a month and that now for over 1 year and never had the mistake with the milk foam, you notice it also at the foam when he no longer fine from the machine then you should decalcify immediately and that also with Melitta decalcifier.

So now this is my experience I would like to share with you.

Hello together,

we have had the machine for about 2.5 years. After 2 years the Themoblock was defective. Thank God repair was on warranty.

Our impressions:

1.) The coffee just tastes good. You have to go to some trouble with the settings, but then..

2.) The drip tray nevts every time. When carrying to the sink, you are guaranteed to spill from the dripping water. When you dump the water afterwards, you will definitely spill it - if you are unlucky, you will get on your feet. The spout hood on the bowl is pulled too high. The designer still dreams that one day the water will flow up the mountain. ...

3.) The programming of the firmware cries out to heaven. Instead of focusing on the user, it has any internal processes in focus. Scrolling through the menu is completely illogical. And: Why can't I already set the user while the machine is booting? That must tell me 'times one in the year 2016!

I would not buy the engine again. The operation gets on my nerves too much ..

Hello everyone,

possibly helpful für some.
I bought the Melitta Caffeo CI 2 years ago at ungefähr 2 years ago. Completely again and always the original parts for cleaning, decalcification etc. used and the water even doubly decalcified (Wasserbehälter with original filter and Britta Wasserenthärter).

After now scarcely 2 years and straight once approx. 1500 cups coffee purchase my destroying result to this full automat (my first):

In the large one and whole is the full automat für this price segment i.O. währen not the häufigen Ausfälle after approx. 1 year began.

--Geschmack as well as Vielfältigkeit and operation are top!--

Allerdings one must adjust oneself to häufige journeys to Verkäufer + sending in to the manufacturer.
In these 2 years I had sent the machine exactly 5 times to the manufacturer and with an average waiting time of 2-4 weeks and no result I really experienced a sad service of the manufacturer. With the 5en times and after androhen the Rückgabe, "suddenly "a leak was discovered.
(Destructive result für the technicians at the manufacturer)

Directly after "repairing the internal leakage" 2 cracked seals of the Brühgruppe came to me with the nächsten cleaning and I was stink sour!
I changed now as a conclusion all seals of the Brühgruppe itself --> machine functioned again. Send in senselessly!

Nun again the problem that already often erwähnt became in other forums that ständig the position Brühgruppe is not correct and the machine switches itself off or the coffee into Satzbehälter pours out and not into the coffee cup entlässt and then everything flooded .mad.gif [B]

The ständigen Ausfälle are just getting on your nerves and I recommend you take more money into your hands and buy a more stable machine that has been on the market for years and has proven itself.

My personal recommendation since I see each time at least 4 Caffeo CI at Rückgaberegal of my Händlers stand and already some have gone through, I will definitely NOT buy myself a Melitta Caffeo CI more! Who does not mind ständig 2-4 weeks to do without the machine müssen and like to make a fool of the service staff lässt because they do not find anything, he will herewith Glücklich.

Love Grüße
Julian W.
