I got a brand new Gaggia Classic Pro and the first 5 or 6 pulls were fine. Now I can't get a pull in less than 60 seconds and it obviously tastes terrible. It doesn't seem like it can push the water through the single basket portafilter fast enough.
I made sure I didn't use more than 8g in the grounds. I reduced the grain size to barely expresso. I tried the double and pressurized baskets. No difference. When I run it without coffee grounds, the water seems to come out as it should. I notice that the brew light turns on and off while trying to extract it. I haven't had it long enough to know if this is normal. Sometimes when I unscrew the portafilter, the entire bottom gets stuck on the screen, which is weird.
I'll call Gaggia support tomorrow, but I was hoping for any insight. All I can think is that the pump may be faulty and not pushing the coffee through.
