HomeConnect is extended

Fully automatic coffee machines are particularly convincing due to their technical possibilities. This gives the user a wide range of individualisation options - from aroma to switch-on time. But this is no longer enough for the upper class.

At the ifa in Berlin, Siemens also presented the extended possibilities of HomeConnect. This networking brings many household appliances onto the Internet and allows them to be controlled via mobile devices. This makes it possible, for example, to obtain information about filling levels. This can be useful if you need to buy coffee on the way home. From a technical point of view, there is probably nothing here that the user cannot automate or adjust. How useful it is, however, to be able to start a cleaning program while on the move is up to each individual to decide.

In addition to the app for mobile phones with iOS or Android, Siemens 2019 HomeConnect is also bringing HomeConnect to Smartwatch. On the basis of the information stored about the Smartwatch, such as the sleeping habits of the last night, the fully automatic coffee machine decides, adapted to the physical condition, in which strength the coffee or another drink should be finished. A whole new way to enjoy a personal coffee in the morning. Siemens provides this possibility, especially with the EQ 9 series.

For quite some time the machines of the EQ.9 connect can be addressed by Alexa Skills. Since the ifa, an app for Google Home has also been added. In addition, Telekom's language assistant "Hallo Magenta" is to be added at the beginning of 2020.

Probably the most interesting function is the so-called "coffeePlaylist". So guests can call the fully automatic coffee machine the respective coffee desire. He saves the wishes in a list and then processes them one by one - you only have to put the cup below it yourself.

After a technical study in 2005 he went to a repair center for electrical appliances. When there was a lot of coffee, many coffee machines were dismantled and analysed. Since then he shares his knowledge online. A real coffee junkie.
