Robot-controlled coffee station MyAppCafé

When the development of the robot-controlled coffee station started at the beginning of 2019, no one could have imagined how important the contactless supply of coffee could become in times of exit restrictions and distance rules. At exactly the right time, My App Café GmbH from Marxzell, in cooperation with WMF, presents the electromechanical barista.

In each MyAppCafé bar there are two fully automatic coffee machines type WMF 9000 S+ installed - the flagship of the WMF portfolio. These enable the sale of up to 120 coffee specialties per hour until after approx. 650 cups a person has to refill the machine. The coffee station itself requires about 7m² of floor space and is operated by customers at the self-service terminal or via app. The app is available in the respective app stores for both Apple and Android devices and generates a barcode which is scanned at the coffee station via a reader. Payment is made at the station by EC or credit card. Alternatively, payment can also be made directly in the app via PayPal, ApplePay or GooglePay.

Once the desired coffee has been ordered and paid for on the smartphone, the software-controlled robot arm on the fully automatic coffee machine selects the beverage and, if desired, even adds chocolate greetings or a picture motif to the coffee before serving. The drinks are then dispensed in compostable cups with optional cornstarch lids. Applications include airports, universities, hospitals, trade fairs and shopping centres.
