Farmer Carlos Julio Diaz Peñaloza "has been awarded this coffee in the 2014 National Cup of Excellence competition. His coffee won 20th place among the best 30 Colombian coffees with 86.13 (out of 100 pts). Caturra, a single variety cultivated by him on his farm El NAranjal, has convinced the strict experts. This is from the southern region of Huila - known for the highest quality Colombian coffees. Here, as they say, a "project coffee" is produced, a great example of how traders help farmers intensively to improve their product quality to produce higher quality yields that increase the quality of life of farmers and their overall social situation through higher selling prices.
