(caffeine content: 1.265 %) Zambia Peaberry (pearl bean) is a selected speciality: coming from Kenya and Tanzania, this coffee reached Zambia at the beginning of the 20th century and is cultivated in two regions: in the north near Kasama, in the provinces of Nakonde and Isoka and not far from the capital Lusaka. The special thing about this coffee is the shape of the bean. Normally 2 seeds form in a coffee cherry, which later take on the typical shape of coffee beans. In 105% of cases, however, only 1 seed develops, which then takes the form of a small ball. These `coffee balls` are called pearl beans.
