Hensler Aethiopien: Mocca Sidamo Grade 2, 500 g

Hensler Aethiopien: Mocca Sidamo Grade 2

Manufacturer product description

The mocha sidamo tastes similar to yirgacheffe. It also has a fruity, slightly bitter taste, but is slightly spicier. It has a small amount of fine acidity, is very aromatic and has a strong body. Its special feature is its slightly perfumed character, similar to a Darjeeling tea. Ethiopia is not only the home of coffee. Today, about 12 million Ethiopians live directly or indirectly from coffee cultivation. Coffee marketing is controlled by the Ethiopia Coffee Marketing Corporation (ECMC), which controls a large part of the export market. The Mocca Sidamo Grade 2 bears the name of its cultivation region "Sidamo", which lies north of Yirgacheffe. However, this former province is not identical with the present "Sidama" region. Grade 2 indicates the quality level of the coffee, the Mocca Sidamo Grade 2 is therefore by no means comparable to a Sidamo Grade 4, Mocca Sidamo grows at an altitude of 1200 to 1900 m above sea level. The bean is small to medium sized and compact ("bourbon type"). Sidamo coffee is both washed and dry processed. Our Mocca Sidamo Grade 2 is the wet processed version.
