Sulawesi Kalossi is a very full-bodied, strong coffee with a full aroma. It has an extraordinary fullness and tastes very aromatic with sweet and slightly earthy notes. Despite its pronounced spiciness, it is also very low in acidity. The dark chocolate flavour comes into its own after a good piece of cake or dessert. The island "Celebes", which belongs to Indonesia and is called "Sulawesi" in Indonesian, lies between Borneo and Papua New Guinea. Here a very special coffee speciality grows in the region "Kalossi", which is named after its origin. The abbreviation "SHG Top" denotes the highest quality level. The Sulawesi Kalossi SHG Top Toraja grows at an altitude of 700 to 1700m above sea level. It is very similar to Java but spicier and stronger. The coffee is prepared wet and dried in the warm tropical sun. The beans of Sulawesi Kalossi are medium in size and very difficult to roast.
