West Blue Java is an outlier in taste among Java coffees. Its typical earthy character is much more discreet than from the eastern region. On the other hand, it convinces with its richness and sweet aroma of light chocolate and nuts, which is rarely found in Indonesian coffees. West Blue Java comes from the Sunda area, one of the oldest coffee growing areas on the island of Java. Unfortunately, coffee cultivation has mainly shifted to the east of the country, so that only a few farmers receive coffee cultivation in the west. The West Blue Java is cultivated at an altitude of 1,400 m - 1,500 m above sea level. It is harvested and sorted by hand before being wet processed and marketed as a variety.
