Hensler Kenia: Perlbohne Top

Manufacturer product description

The taste of the pearl bean from Kenya is very similar to that of the superstar. It also offers a fruity, spicy, full aroma. It is very aromatic with a strong body and fine acidity. Coffees from Kenya are among the best traded on the world market. In Kenya, Arabica coffees are grown almost exclusively and are sold worldwide by the Kenya Coffea Board, a marketing company. The main importer of Kenyan coffee is currently Germany. Coffee is grown in Kenya mainly north-east of Nairobi in Ruiru, Thika and in the Rift Valley. Usually there are two green coffee beans in a coffee cherry, which lie with the flat side to each other and together form the core of the coffee cherry. If there is only one bean in the coffee cherry of certain types of coffee, this is called pearl bean. The pearl bean is elongated and round and rather small. Unlike the classic coffee bean, it has no flat side. The Kenyan pearl bean grows at an altitude of 1400 to 2001 m and is processed wet. The "TOP" in the name of the coffee is a symbol of the highest quality.
