Kaffeerösterei Cupbeans, Michaela & Jens Schaffrinna Indien Monsooned Malabar

Manufacturer product description

An ancient legend says that in times when sailing ships brought green coffee from India to Europe during the months of the monsoon, the coffees adopted the typical Indian ambience of the Indian coastal region. It took nearly 6 months at that time to sail around the Cape of Good Hope with a sailing ship to get past Africa to Europe. During this period, coffee changed its structure, bean size and colour by being exposed to constant damp weather conditions. The unique soft, wide cup was immediately popular in Europe. This large-boned coffee (AA) is cultivated between 1000 and 1600 mtr. and is processed unwashed but monsooned. The cooperative is called Aspinwall It expects you a chocolaty, coffee with very little fruit acidity.
