Awarded with the Gold Medal 2015 of the German Roestergilde. Situated between Tanzania & Zimbabwe, Malawi produces very fine African coffees. We particularly noticed the Pamwamba AA Plus, which is also certified by Rain Frorest Alliance, which means that it is sustainably grown, which leads to an improvement in yields with Rainforest Alliance. This directly improves the economic situation of the farmers. AA Plus typically refers to African screening, i.e. the largest and most uniform sort. A slightly darker roast gives the coffee dark chocolate notes with slightly fruity notes of blackberry and caramel. This was particularly noticeable when preparing filter coffee. But also with Frech Press / Bodum this character came into its own, with additional nutty flavours.
