In the Matagalpa and Jinotega region of Nicaragua, the Mierisch family has been running small coffee farms for four generations. The green coffees of the German Mierischs are of the highest quality. Mierischs attaches great importance to environmental protection, near-natural management and appropriate remuneration of the workers. They are also committed to the families of their workers and to the welfare of the local community. We have our own water treatment plant for the water used in the washing process. Pests are controlled with bait traps. For the workers' children there are regular lessons in their own local school. For good medical care, everyone has free access to an infirmary. A church was established for spiritual life. The local infrastructure has been promoted and there is a small'supermarket' for the workers and their families. In addition, the workers receive freshly prepared meals every day during their breaks. The Mierischs also invest in the training and further education of their workers. Son Erwin Mierisch (43) himself teaches everyone why environmental protection is so important and that waste and garbage belong in bins set up for it. This is the only way to recycle waste and dispose of it in a targeted manner.
